Overview

The R/V SERC is a research vessel owned and operated by the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC). It is designed for research and educational programs on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. It measures 41 feet in length and can accommodate up to two crew members and 14 scientists. The R/V SERC is equipped with hydraulic and manual winches for deploying towing nets and instruments, and can support diving operations.
